On 19th Oct 2016 at about 0200 hrs Constable Gurnam Singh of 173 Bn Border Security Force was instrumental foiling an infiltration bid in operational area Bobiya. On 21st Oct’ 2016 at about 0930 hrs, as a retaliation, pak militants targeted him, whereas he was hit by a sniper’s bullet on his forehead, and succumbed to his injuries.
