Constable Nitin Kumar was on sentry duty on 2nd Oct 2016 when around midnight, few terrorists tried to breach the camp security of 40 Bn BSF, co-located with 46 Rastriya Rifle. He put up the bravest fight against the intruders and also alerted the camp. His quick response averted a major terrorist strike on camp. While doing so, Constable Nitin Kumar sustained bullet injuries by terrorists’ fire and later succumbed to his injuries.
