On 3rd June 2016, a Border Security Force convoy going from Jammu to Srinagar was targeted by armed terrorists near Brij Behera. Head Constable Dinesh Giri of 1022 Arty Regiment tried to mobilize the 51mm Mortar of the convoy protection party for retaliation. In this act, he received multiple bullet injuries from indiscriminate fire by terrorists. He was evacuated to 92 BH Srinagar but succumbed to his injuries.
