On 8th Jan 2016, in the Naxal affected district of Koraput (Odisha), a patrol party went for domination operation in the village Danda Bari under dynamic leadership of late Sunil Kumar Behra, Deputy Commandant. While returning, naxal targeted the party with an improvised explosive device. The officer took full brunt of the improvised explosive device Blast and saved his comrades, in an unmatched display of esprit-de-corps.
