Sub Inspector Devender Singh Bisht along with CRPF troops moved out to lay an ambush against the Maoists on November 22, 2016 between Burkapal and Gadgadmetta, police station Chintagupha, District Sukma (Chhattisgarh). During the operation, Maoists blasted Improvised Explosive Device, as a result of which, he sustained serious injuries and later succumbed to them laying down his life in the line of duty.
