Head Constable Uday Narayan Gond along with other personnel of 206 CoBRA Bn, CRPF was carrying out Search operation in the jungle area of Chintagufa & Karigundam, District Sukma (Chhattisgarh) on September 16, 2016. During operation, an encounter broke out with Maoists. Head Constable Uday Narayan Gond fought valiantly but sustained serious bullet injuries and later succumbed to them on September 21, 2016.
