No. 950066369 (Late) HC(GD) Kamini Kumar Barman of 50 Bn BSF a Corona Warrior, deployed on border duty in severely COVID affected endemic area of Barmer (Rajasthan) complained of loss of smell, loss of sensation, numbness on right side of face etc on 12.05.2021. He was immediately referred/evacuated to MDM Hospital Jodhpur and admitted there as a COVID-19 positive case. He was further to diagnosed as a case of Post-COVID Mucormycosis. Subsequently he was operated on 16.05.2021. His condition started deteriorating from 27.05.2021 onwards due to post-surgical complications and he eventually succumbed to the infection there on 02.06.2021 while under treatment. Late HC(GD) Kamini Kumar Barman laid down his life on the line of duty under the global pandemic situation due to post-Covid Mucormycosis and sacrificed his life as a consequence of his active deployment in COVID-19 environment.
