Constable Ajay Kumar along with other personnel of 209 CoBRA Bn was on Search and Destroy Operation in forest area of Burhapahar on July 11, 2016, when an encounter broke out with Maoists. During the fierce encounter, Constable Ajay Kumar fought valiantly but sustained bullet injuries in the operation and succumbed to it, thereby laying down his life in the line of duty.
