No. 870035528 (Late) ASI(GD) Rajendra Nath Singh of 33 Bn BSF, a Corona warrior deployed on border duty in severely COVID affected endemic area of VA/VP duty at Air Field Awantipura, Srinagar (UTof Kashmir), complained of loss of appetite and dryness of mouth on 29.04.2021. He was tested for COVID-19 at SHQ BSF Hospital Srinagar and was found Covid-19 positive. He was admitted in CH BSF Srinagar and further referred to SKIMS Soura (Srinagar) on 30.04.2021 for specialised care in the hospital. At about 0220 hrs on 12.05.2021 he succumbed to the infection while under isolation. ASI(GD) Rajendra Nath Singh laid down his life on the line of duty under the global pandemic situation due to corona virus infection and sacrificed his life as a consequence of his active deployment in the protection of the sensitive Awantipura Air Field
