A CRPF bus carrying Constable Santosh Saw and others on board was returning from duty on June 25, 2016, when it was attacked by 02 Lashkar-e-Tayyaba militants at Farishtabal under police station Pampore, District Awantipora (J&K), which was retaliated fiercely by the troops. Despite sustaining bullet injuries in initial firing, Constable Santosh Saw fought valiantly against the militants. He later succumbed to his injuries and made the supreme sacrifice for the Nation
