No. 042542898 SI(GD) Rakesh Dobhal, 1011 Arty Regt performing duties of Artillery OP at an Observation Post located at a Forward Defended locality approx 50 yards from LC and approx 175 yards from enemy post Chand LP in Naugaon Sector (J and K) was directing fire of own Arty Batteries on Pak positions across LC from where Pak Army had opened heavy volume of fire of flat trajectory weapons, Infantry Mortars and Artillery guns. At about 1220 hrs on 13.11.2020 while obtaining data of enemy positions on ground from his OP bunker, he was hit on his head by Pak Snipers from Pak Post Chand LP with bullet entering his head through the left side just above the ear after penetrating the helmet and exiting through the right side. Inspite of being fatally injured, he kept on controlling the fire from own Artillery Batteries till he fell down on the ground. SI Rakesh Dobhal expired at about 1315 hrs on 13.11.2020 inspite of all medical support. SI Rakesh Dobhal martyred himself on the line of duty in hostile enemy firing exhibiting conspicuous gallantry and utmost devotion to duty.
