Troops of G 115 Bn were deployed for Naka duty at T Chowk Dudherhama PS-Ganderbal Distt Ganderbal, JAMMU AND KASHMIR on 23 dec 2020, During Naka duty at about 1633 Hrs an unknown militant lobbed grenade towards troops which exploded near morcha in which No 175351689 CT GD Mritunjoy Chutia got injured As the place was crowded with civilians, to prevent any loss to the civilians and to avoid any collateral damage, troops maintained utmost restrain and searched for the militants who escaped taking advantage of the crowd Despite getting injured175351689 CT GD Mritunjoy Chutia remained on the post till he was evacuated to Soura Hospital Srinagar During the process of treatment CT GD Mritunjoy Chutia succumbed to the injury on 24 dec 2020 at 1750 Hrs Maintaining the highest tradition of CRPF CT GD Mritunjoy Chutia displayed raw courage and made supreme sacrifice in service of the Nation
