No. 001301748 CT(GD) Sudip Sarkar, 169 Bn BSF a member of the ACP Party of D Coy, 169 Bn BSF Ex-FDL PT-3850 on the LOC in Kupwara Sector of Kashmir Frontier (J and K) suffered serious bullet injuries as the ACP Party was fired upon by a group of heavily armed militants at about 0100 hrs on 08.11.2020. However, CT(GD) Sudip Sarkar continued returning the fire in spite of being seriously wounded thereby foiling a major infiltration bid of militants along the LOC while the encounter continued further and spilled on to 09.11.2020. CT(GD) Sudip Sarkar succumbed to his injuries and martyred himself on the line of duty. Late CT(GD) Sudip Sarkar while on active operational duties exhibited conspicuous gallantry in the face of vicious attack by heavily armed militants and rendered supreme sacrifice in battling terrorists in Kupwara Sector of Kashmir Frontier with full dedication and devotion on the line of duty and in the service of the nation.
