No. 908550027 HC(GD) Vijay Kumar Sharma of 158 BnBSF, a Corona Warrior, was deployed on operational duty along Indo-Bangladesh Border in severely COVID affected endemic area of Kalyani, West Bengal. He complained of fever abdomen pain and vomiting on 06.09.2020 and was evacuated to SDH Bongaon and was further referred to CH BSF Kolkata and thereafter to DESUN Hospital, Kolkata, where he was admitted on 09.09.2020 for further treatment. He was detected as COVID-19 Positive. He succumbed to the infection on 16.09.2020 at about 0115 hrs in spite of best efforts. HC(GD) Vijay Kumar Sharma laid down his life in the line of duty under the global pandemic situation due to corona virus infection and sacrificed his life as a consequence of his active deployment in COVID-19 environment.
