No. 871027377 ASI(GD) R Muthu of 150 BnBSF, a Corona Warrior, was deployed on operational duty along Indo-Pak International Border at BOP Khawda in the severely COVID affected endemic area of Gandhinagar, Gujarat. He complained of breathing problem and cough on 12.09.2020 and was kept under observation at the BOP. On 18.09.2020 at about 0220 hrs he again complained of breathing problems and was immediately evacuated to PHCKhawda for treatment. On duty Medical Officer declared him brought dead due to cardiac arrest and suspected him to be Covid-19 infected. The mortal remains of deceased was brought to KGGH Bhuj for post-mortem and further to Govt Medical College, Gujarat on 19.09.2020 where in the hospital authority declared the deceased as COVID-19 positive. ASI(GD) R Muthu laid down his life in the line of duty under the global pandemic situation due to corona virus infection and sacrificed his life as a consequence of his active deployment in COVID-19 environment.
