On March 30, 2016, Constable Devendra Chourasiya along with his party was on the way from Bn HQ Bacheli to Bhusaras Ghati to evacuate ‘Scout’, a severely ill patrol dog of the canine squad, when the Maoists triggered an Improvised Explosive Device at Mailawada, District Dantewada (Chhattisgarh). In the process, he sustained serious injuries and made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
