On 24/09/20, B/117 coy with strength of 41 personnel, under command, Cheetah Deepak Shukla was deployed for securing the funnel area of Srinagar Airport. ASI/GD Naresh Umrao Badole of B/117 Bn was deploying his section in the apple orchard. During above deployment militants who were hiding about 90-100 Mtr from the point of a lighting from the vehicle, were started firing upon the troops. The troops immediately took to the position and retaliate the fire of militants. During an exchange of fire ASI Naresh Umrao Badole has suffered bullet injuries in his chest and thigh. He was evacuated to Army 92 Based Hospital Srinagar immediately. Where he was declared brought dead. Thus ASI/GD Naresh Umrao Badole has attained martyrdom in the line of service of the Nation.
