| Brief of Incident: |
Shri Rajeev Kumar, AC IRLA No. 41220962 of 45 Bn BSF a Corona Warrior, was deployed on operational duty along Indo-BD International Border in West Bengal. The Officer complained of headache to GDMO 45 Bn BSF on 19.07.2020 and was advised treatment. He developed fever, cough and headache on 21.07.2020 and was kept in isolation under supervision of Combined Hospital SHQ BSF Jalpaiguri till 23.07.2020. The officer was referred to CH BSF Kadamtala NB on 24.07.2020 and was further admitted to NBMC and H Siliguri for treatment. On 28.07.2020 RT-PCR sample result was received as Positive for COVID-19. Officer was, thereafter, referred to DCH, Desun Hospital Siliguri for treatment. The Officer succumbed to covid-19 infection on 29.07.2020 at about 0258 hrs while under treatment at Desun Hospital, Shri Rajeev Kumar, AC laid down his life on the alter of duty on the borders of India under the global pandemic situation due to corona virus infection and sacrificed his life as a consequence of his active deployment in Covid-19 environment
