On 18th Feb 2020 at around 1600 hrs teams of 208 Cobra Bn a/w troops of 241 Bn launched an OPS in the area of village- Tondamarka, Distt- Sukma,(Chhatisgarh). While the troops were on the move armed naxals started indiscriminate firing and shelling on troops using automatic rifles, LMG and HE Bombs. CT/GD Kanai Majhee along with his buddy took position immediately and retaliated back. During the fight back a bullet pierced through the thigh of CT/GD Kanai Majee. Undeterred by his grievous injury he kept firing on Naxals and inflicted casualty on them and also provided cover fire to his party. Later on he was evacuated to Palodi camp and further to kistaram camp, where he was declared brought dead. With his gallent action CT/GD Kanai Majee not only forced Naxals to retreat but also saved life his other injured team members and attained the martyrdom .
