A tech Int was received regarding presence of large number of armed members of banned outfit CPI maoist in jungle area of village irrapalli bijapur district. After corroborating the Int through own sources a joint sco ops was planned and launched on 09 February 20. On 10 February 2020 troops of 204 cobra along with 151 Bn reached their assigned target areas by 0745 hrs as per plan. When troops of 204 Cobra were tactically searching the jungle area of village Irrapalli around 1005 hrs they came under heavy indiscriminate firing from multiple directions. Large number of armed maoists started firing upon the teams of 204 cobra with automatic weapons and also started firing improvised rocket bombs. The teams of 204 cobra fought fearlessly and retaliated in a befitting manner. During exchange of fire troops fought gallantly and succeeded in neutralizing many armed naxals and also recovered one dead body of uniformed male naxal. In the valiant effort, while fighting the naxals no. 135320847 Constable Purnanand made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The commando fought gallantly without caring for his life and got martyrdom.
