Ops party of 204 COBRA were to conduct CASO at Jarapalli Village on morning of 07/11/19 at first light. While the ops party was approaching the target Village at about 0350 hrs the ops party come under heavy fire from naxals. Other strike of 204 COBRA which was about 200/300 mtr ahead of our party also noticed some movement in front of them and fired at fleeing naxals. The ops party retaliated and after a brief encounter, the firing stopped. After this, the ops party searched the area and found that No- 115023564 CT/GD Kamta Prasad of D/151 Bn was laying on the ground with bullet head injury. The Unit Doctor gave him immediate medical treatment but he succumbed to his injury on the spot.
