| Brief of Incident: |
On 28.09.2019, No. 894017218 Late Head Constable (GD) junal Topno of 43 Bn BSf was detailed for observation duties from 1200 hrs to 1800 hrs at BOP Farzipara on Indo-Bangaldesh Border. At about 1500 hrs Head Constable Junal Topno noticed movement of smugglers/miscreants in Country boats (donga). He challenged/cautioned them to stop but they did not pay heed then Head Constable Junal Topno moved into water to apprehend them, while he collapsed into deep water and trapped with high standing grass. Immediately search ops was carried out with the help of BSF speed boat and civil youths. Body of Junal Topno was found recovered and immediately sent to Sadik Khan Civil Hospital, Jalangi (W.B) but due to serious condition, his life could not be saved and he attained Martyrdom at about 1720 hrs.
