| Brief of Incident: |
On 18th Aug 2019, at approx. 1900 hrs specific intelligence regarding presence of cattle smugglers on Indo-Bangladesh border in the AOR of BOP Gudligaon, 6 Bn BSF was received. Accordingly, an ambush/patrolling party led by No. 100099931 Late/Insp Sadhu Sanjaykumar Mohanbhai, reacted promptly and on reached near the bank of Jinjiram Nallah/River. This ambush/patrolling party observed movement of 15-20 cattle smugglers alongwith cattle. On seeing the BSF party, cattle smugglers tried to flee away through Jinjiram Nallah/River. In the meanwhile party commander Insp Sadhu Sanjaykumar Mohanbhai, while chasing and catching cattle smugglers slipped and fell into the deep water of Jinjiram Nallah/River. Although Insp Sadhu Sanjaykumar Mohanbhai was evacuated by party from River, but he remained unconscious due to drowning in deep water for 3-4 minutes and further evacuated to Gajarkandi Hospital, Kurkuramara immediately. On reaching hospital the Doctor on duty of Gajarkandi Hospital, Kurkuramara declare him brought dead and attained Martyrdom at approx. 1930 hrs
