Late Rajesh Shivrain, Ex 2I/C was attached with BSF Air Wing as Pilot. On 22.12.2015 consolidation flying and ferry of technicians was planned for Air Base Ranchi by BSF Aircraft SKA B 200 Regn. No. VT BSA Superking. The ferry of six technicians (Rotary wing) was urgently required for Air Base Ranchi for inspection and carrying out 50 hours servicing and snag rectification of MI 7 V5 Helicopter stationed at Ranchi Air Base for Anti Naxal operations and for further deployment in Anti Naxal role. All the mandatory pre flying inspection was carried out as per norms of DGCA and BSF Aircraft SKA B 200 Regn. No. VT BSF Superking was found airworthy. Accordingly, at about 0937 Hrs on 22.12.2015 BSF Aircraft SKA B 200 Regn. No. VT BSA Superking took off from Air Base Palam for Ranchi on official duty. Late Rajesh Shivrain, 2I/C was the pilot of the said Aircraft. Suddenly, the said Aircraft SKA B 200 Regn. No. VT BSA Superking crashed near village Shahbad, Mohammadpur, New Delhi. Resultantly all Air Crew members/technical personnel including the pilot Shri Rajesh Shivrain, 2I/C, SSB on board lost their lives while performing a government bonafide duty.
