| Brief of Incident: |
On 25 May 2019 at 1145 hours, a column of Tobu Company comprising a strength of one officer, one JCO and 15 Other Ranks under Assistant Commandant Angam Zimik along with Naib Subedar Dina Nath Ram in one TATA 407 and one Tata Xenon vehicle moved to relieve the stop party of ongoing Op Sunrise II led by Naib Subedar Ganesh Nath at Ukha Ridge. At approx 1320 hours, the leading vehicle TATA 407 by Naib Subedar Dina Nath Ram came under IED Blast followed by heavy fire from a nearby height. Own column retaliated and a fire fight ensued between own columnn and under grounds for approx 45 minutes. G/2851737L Rifleman (General Duty) Kalidas Sarma sustained gunshot wound on right side of chest during the firefight and attained martyrdom. G/2851737L Rifleman Kalidas Sarma made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the Nation in the best traditions of the Force.
