On 18/03/2019 at about 1700 hrs, troops of 231 Bn, CRPF moved from Kamal Post on foot towards Kondapara (Chhatisgarh) for safe induction of troops of BSF and 208 CoBRA in connection with GPE-2019. On reaching, between Kamal Post and Kondapara, Distt- Dantewada (Chhatisgarh), heavy firing started from alongside of road followed by 6-7 IED blast serially. No. 913050402 HC/GD Shashi Kant Tiwari of 231 Bn came into impact of IED blast/firing and laid down his life in the line of duty and attained martyrdom.
