On 31/12/2018 at about 1730 hrs, troop of 157 Bn, CRPF under command Shri Gulam Jeelani Khan, Asstt. Commandant reached at village Senjani, District Khunti (Jharkhand) to conduct operation against naxals. The troops observed a light like torch coming from down side of the LUP. Shri Gulam Jeelani Khan, Asstt Commandant decided to verify the light and went to the place where the light was coming from. After verifying the site, he was coming towards LUP and in the mean time officer came into contact with naked electric wire which was possibly lowered down by the naxals as trap and fell down. He was immediately evacuated to PHC, Arki and further referred to Khunti Sadar Hospital but his life could not be saved. Thus, he laid down his life in the line of duty and attained martyrdom.
