| Brief of Incident: |
On 15 July 2018, BSF party of 114 Bn of COB Mahla, Chhattisgarh consisting of 02 Officers, 02 SOs and 27 Other ranks, total-31, including No. 000050874 Const (GD) Mukhtiar Singh, laid ambush from 150030 hrs in general area of RSO Point 02 abd 03, about 02 Kms in the West direction from COB Mahla. At about 150345 hrs, while returning from Partapur direction to COB Mahla, the party was ambushed near RSO Point 01 by naxals. The heavy exchange of fire with BSF party and naxals lasted for 7 to 8 minutes. Due to effective retaliatory fire by the BSF party, the naxals fled away taking advantage of thick jungle and darkness. Unfortunately, during exchange of fire, Const (GD) Mukhtiar Singh, Const(GD) Lokendra Singh and Const (GD) Sandeep Dey got bullet injuries. Const (GD) Mukhtiar Singh and 02 other injured constables were immediately evacuated to Government Hospital Pakhanjure for treatment but Const (GD) Mukhtiar Singh and Const(GD) Lokendra Singh attained martyrdom enroute.
