| Brief of Incident: |
On 9 July 2018,Operation Tulip 59 launched in the AOR of 121 Bn BSF.BSF party led by Shri Niman Baxla,DC alongwith one Officer,20 other ranks including No 143504388 Constable Vijayanand Naik and Shri S C Sahu, Thana Incharge of Thana Chhote Bethia with one Constable of Chhattisgarh Police, total 24 personnel,moved from COB Chhote Bethia to Tadveli through COB Marbeda. At about 1630 hrs, when party reached 7 kms ahead of COB Marbeda at a place PV 96, Naxals blasted IED in which Constable Vijayanand Naik, who was the pillion rider to the leading motor cycle and his driver No.143504139 Constable Santosh Laxman Gurav, sustained grievous splinter injuries.Constable Vijayanand Naik and his motor cycle driver were evacuated to PHC Bande where Doctor on duty declared Constable Vijayanand Naik and Constable Santosh Laxman Gurav, brought dead at about 1945 hrs.
