| Brief of Incident: |
On 12 June 2018 at about 2140 hrs Pak Rangers opened heavy firing on BSF vehicle carrying operational defence material in AOR of BOP Chamliyal on Indo Pakistan border in Jammu region in which ASI Ram Niwas sustained serious bullet injuries. Despite injury, ASI Ram Niwas retaliated the fire and also directed the nearby mounds to retaliate and himself crawled to nearby naka mound. Under the heavy firing and shelling, injured ASI Ram Niwas was evacuated by the evacuation party but he attained martyrdom on 13 June 2018 at about 0150 hrs while enroute to CHC Ramgarh Samba.
