| Brief of Incident: |
On 12 June 2018 at about 2140 hrs, Pak Rangers opened heavy firing on BSF vehicle carrying operational defence material in AOR of BOP Chamliyal on Indo Pakistan border in Jammu region.In this firing 02 BSF personnel sustained serious bullet injuries. Leading from the front, Shri Jitendra Singh, AC took initiative and moved tactically alongwith 02 SOs and 04 ORs for evacuation of injured BSF personnel amidst heavy cross border firing. Pak Rangers again opened heavy firing and shelling on the evacuation party. Few mortar bombs exploded very close to Shri Jitendra Singh, AC and he sustained grievous splinter injuries and attained martyrdom on 13 June 2018 at about 0110 hrs while enroute to CHC Ramgarh.
