On March 11, 2017, Assistant Sub Inspector Narender Kumar Singh along with other personnel was on Road Search Operation at Bheji-Kottacheruvu axis, Under Police Station Bheji (Sukma), Maoists triggered Improvised Explosive Device blasts and opened heavy fire on the troops. Assistant Sub Inspector Narender Kumar Singh valiantly led his troops but sustained serious injuries and succumbed to them laying down his life in the line of duty.
