Rifleman (General Duty) Biju Sorupuwar was part of a Permanent Vehicle Check Post at Lambui on NH-202 (Ukhrul-Imphal road), Ukhrul, Manipur. At around 0705 hours on 30 Jun 2017, an IED blast took place at Permanent Vehicle Check Post leading to grievous injuries to Rifleman (General Duty) Biju Sorupuwar and two other jawans. Rifleman (General Duty) Biju Sorupuwar made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the Nation in the best tradition of the Force.
