Inspector Jagjit Singh, along with other personnel, was on Road Search Operation under PS Bheji (Sukma) on March, 11, 2017. During the operation, Maoists triggered Improvised Explosive Device blasts and opened heavy fire on the troops. Inspector Jagjit Singh led his troops from the front and fought gallantly but sustained serious injuries and succumbed to them, thereby making supreme sacrifice.rn
