On Apr 03rd, 2017, Head Constable Basappa Bajantari was in a convoy when it was attacked by militants between Pampore and Pantha Chowk, NH-1A, Kashmir. He, alongwith other troops, retaliated the attack bravely. During the encounter, Basappa Bajantari suffered bullet injuries and attained martyrdom in the line of duty.
