On March 11, 2017, Constable Satish Chandra Verma, along with others, was on a Road Search Operation at Bheji-Kottacheruvu axis, PS Bheji, District Sukma (Chhattisgarh) Maoists triggered IED blasts and opened heavy fire on the troops. Constable Satish Chandra Verma fought valiantly but sustained serious injuries and succumbed to them, laying down his life in the line of duty.
