On 20th Nov’ 2016 at about 2240 hrs, the Border Security Force bunker received heavy shelling from the Pak post. It was appropriately retaliated and the firing was stopped. Rai Singh controlling his section under shelling got hit by splinters of an 82mm Mortar shell. Later he succumbed to his injuries but not before ensuring the complete safety of his men.
